Pretty to look at but slow to pre-heat

This combo is nice to look at, but the oven takes forever to pre-heat. The oven also runs the fans after you turn it off for about 20 minutes and it is loud. Also, the microwave runs forever (the fan maybe?) after it is finished heating your food. It is loud. We are not happy with this product. Installed in 2014. I absolutely would not recommend this product with these noisy/slow features.

We purchased this unit and installed it ourselves. It was easy and the unit surpassed anything we have ever owned prior. It is beautifully designed to enhance and update our kitchen appeal. Just a few Problems

A Short Cook 4/4/2016

Have had our Combo Unit for 7 months. It performs well, except the Lower Oven takes a very long time to pre-heat. I do not like the pull-down door of the Microwave. It is hard to reach in, and it's impossible to clean the back wall of occasional splatters because I can't reach it. Do you sell a cleaning utensil with a very long handle? It is annoying when the fan in the microwave doesn't turn off automatically at the end of cooking. The light and the protective screen make it impossible to see clearly into the microwave. The light in the Lower Oven is so bright, you need sunglasses!

We just did an entire remodel of our 1969 condo kitchen, this product works perfect in the space, the oven is simple to use, I love that I can bake cookies using all 3 racks and they all are cooked evenly. The conversion to convection is easy-I love everything about this appliance!

No Lights on Keypad

So far, I like everything about this appliance except that there are no lights on the keypad. Frustating to have to turn on kitchen lights just to warm something in microwave! I assume it doesn't have lights? If it does, mine are not working. My old microwave (another brand) DID have keypad lights. 'Wish this one did!

One of the Best Ovens I have every had!

I bought this oven over 6 months ago when I did a total gut job on my kitchen. My daughter-in-law told me how much she loved her kitchenaid ovens and urged me to get this one. Love the microwave oven combination. It is so versatile and the microwave is the right height for me. I have seen them when they are practically over your head which is not safe. Also love the surprise of the cobalt blue inside when I open it to remove dinner. Another convenience is the meat thermometer. So easy to use and keep clean. I would highly recommend this oven to anyone.

You Cannot Buy a Worse Oven

I would give this negative stars if possible. I've had mine a couple of years, and can't count the number of service calls I have had. It has NEVER worked right. Customer service tells me there is nothing they can do. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty. The last two problems were that it wouldn't turn on AT ALL for a while, even though it was getting electricity. Today I ran the shortest self clean (for the first time). And, sure enough, I heard a pop. When the cycle was done, I opened the oven, and what do you know, the inside glass was broken in half. This is GARBAGE. If someone had offered to pay me to take it new, I would tell them NO. Stay as far away as you can and buy ANYTHING else you can. Pure junk.

This is the nicest Convection Microwave/Oven combo out there

I have had this for a month or so and it is really a nice unit! It has been great so far! The only thing I don't understand, is how the keypad is off to the left of the microwave and lower oven, I think they should be even! I did enquire about it and they think that it is just fine! You try to buy American, and you get uninspected items anyway!

Perfect upgrade!

I am very pleased to have upgraded from my existing GE oven to the Kitchenaid Microwave Oven Combo. The interior space is more ample and I can finally fit a traditional roasting pan and turkey inside. I have used most of the features, including convection roasting and baking and have been very pleased with the results. The new appliance looks beautiful and stylish.

Installed 3 months ago and will not pop popcorn. It has a dedicated popcorn button but will not pop popcorn. Last time I tried it took four minutes and by that time the corn that did pop was dried out. Also, the oven takes a long time to heat up

I am so happy I purchased this oven/microwave combo wall unit. I thought it was very attractive in the show room, with high end quality. I couldn't be more pleased with the way it looks in my kitchen and it performs very well. By the way, the installation was easy. The installer said the wires were centered in the middle of the unit so plugged in easily into the existing outlet. Sometimes he said the plug is at the bottom or top of a wall unit and can't reach existing outlet.

Perfect Space Saver

This was a part of my remodel and I love the fact that it looks great and is a smaller size then most combos. It fits in the space perfectly. so far the micro and oven work great. I have not tried the convection oven but I am sure I will once I move back in. The blue interior is a nice surprise every time I open the oven.

Great combination appliance

My convection combination with microwave wall oven was installed one month ago and I love it! It is nice not to have a clunky microwave on my countertops. Additionally, the oven cooks well (standard and convection). I have not tried the convection feature in the microwave/convection combo yet but if it works as well as the main oven, I know I will be pleased. The oven is easy to use and looks great in the kitchen.

Great appearance and functionality

This is a really nice looking appliance that seems as if it would look good in a variety of styles of kitchens. I looked at a lot of microwave/wall oven combos and chose this one because I was replacing another KitchenAid combo that had lasted 22 years and based on its price, appearance, and functionality.The only thing I don't like about this appliance is the microwave oven door opens from the top rather than the side.  It gets in my way.  I am used to one opening like a door; perhaps I'll feel differently when I get used to this one.

There were few choices of a combo oven/micro/convection. I looked at the Viking line but was dissuaded by the sales rep. He convinced me to go with KitchenAid. So, I applaud KitchenAid for the functionality of the product, as well as the appearance and the ample room in the MW. The cons for the wall oven are - a lighted panel would be helpful; the popcorn function does not work and trying any popcorn in the MW does not work nor does it work on any setting. It would be great to have an express cooking option on the MW and an ability to continue baking on the oven convection side when time runs out using the conversion feature. Overall, satisfied, but with a few tweaks, this could be a great wall oven combo!

Our old wall oven/microwave combo died a week before Christmas & we had 21 people coming for Christmas dinner. Luckily our local appliance dealer had one Kitchenaid combo in stock and all was well. It works great (still learning the many features it offers). One downside--the control panel on top does not have a back light to it and it is difficult to see the controls in the evening; I use a flashlight to read them. Otherwise it has been very satisfactory.

We installed this about 6 weeks ago. Looks great. We like the micro/speed oven combo- handy when you want to do something in less time. The main oven is noisy- fan runs a lot, and it's slow to come up to temp- says its there about 20 minutes before it actually is (tech is going to check this and see if it can be calibrated). Warming drawer is handy- we are used to double ovens, and when entertaining 27 a few weeks ago, we had enough space to make it work well.

Love the look and features but already havingproblems

Had this installed right before Christmas and loved using it for the holiday baking. But a little over a month of it being installed there are problems. The fan on the oven portions has periodically gotten extremely loud and more recently the electronic panel has shut down twice during use. The unit has been serviced and both the panel and fan will be replaced. Hope this corrects both problems. I am not too happy about these malfunctions especially since it has not been installed for long. In my opinion something that was so expensive should not have these problems, especially this soon. Counting on KitchenAid to stand behind their product and make me happy for choosing their product.

Microwave doesn't fully cook popcorn

We have had the oven for 3 months now. Our kids love to eat popcorn and watch movies. We have tried using the popcorn button on the microwave and have also increased the cook time by setting the cook time manually. Both methods result in nearly a fistful of unpopped kernels or about 1/5 of the bag. Appears the microwave simply won't get hot enough as the kernels quit popping before the cycle is complete. Outside of that, it has been great.

Oven and a half just what we needed

I've long wanted a unit like this, seeing it as most flexible and convenient. I don't know why more haven't shown up because of the convenience. Of the two units, I use the microwave/convection oven most frequently. I've learned not to bake something in the upper section if I intend to use the microwave shortly. The heat from baking makes it too hot to handle items for microwaving immediately after baking. Features I love: bread proofing, the BIG glass door for the bottom oven, slide out racks, quick heating, easy to read intuitive screen displays, ease of use, design of a two oven wall unit with the addition of a microwave Features I don't like: small type face for pad labels, no light for the pads so that you have to turn on your overhead light for a midnight snack (if you turn the button lights on and off, that'd be perfect!), inadequate light to see what you have in the microwave (mainly because of required filter in between glass layers of the microwave door).

I bought this oven/microwave combo back in May 2014. Install was mid June 2014. By November, the fan/blower was making a noise like a helicopter was taking off. Just got it fixed. Jury is still out on if it will make same noise. I need to cook something tonight to test it out. This is the second out of four Architect appliances that has had to be repaired within a six month period.
